OVERVIEW

The Drumbeg Drive Waste Water Pumping Station (WwPS) serves as the terminal pumping station for the Lisburn sewerage catchment, receiving the majority of sewerage flows from the surrounding network. Due to the aging infrastructure and operational challenges, the existing station had been discharging unscreened flows into the River Lagan, creating significant environmental concerns. This project involved the decommissioning of the old pumping station and the construction of a new facility to improve efficiency and reduce environmental impact. The new WwPS includes two newly constructed 20-meter diameter, 9-meter deep chambers and is equipped with modern sewage pumps and associated systems.
